Nasal congestion is an annoying symptom that can affect all ages!
Newborns are commonly congested due to their tiny nasal passages. To help your baby you can administer saline nasal drops or spray.
Older children often suffer from nasal congestion due to colds or allergies. For nasal congestion that is secondary to a cold, you can give your child saline nasal spray and suction or have them blow their nose if mucus is present. A warm steamy shower before bed, and a cool mist humidifier in their bedroom can ensure they get a peaceful night’s sleep.
If nasal congestion is caused by allergies, it is best to consult with your child’s provider to ensure the correct medication is being used. Medications such as nasal steroids or antihistamine can help.
