My deepest condolences to the family of Laura Schwartzenberger, an alumnus of Pueblo South High and one of two FBI agents murdered by a child pornographer. Although I did not know Laura personally, she swam at South High School with my sister. She spent the last 10 years in South Florida investigating crimes against children, something that affects me both personally and professionally. As a Pueblo South High Alumnus, myself, I am devastated by the lost of one of our own and one of the “good guys”. Although there are rotten apples in every profession, I have the highest respect for our law enforcement officers who everyday put their lives at risk so that I can do what I do without fear. Laura gave her life protecting children who are at risk and often unable to protect themselves. Although I mourn her passing, I am given solace by the fact that there are still people out there willing to sacrifice themselves for the good of others. Rest in Peace Laura, South Colt Nation will not forget your sacrifice.
